Gift Card Sleeves & Flowers

I just did the math and figured up how many of the Business Card Sleeves I'm going to have to make between now and 11/30/2011. It's not horribly daunting just slightly intimidating. I have 9 made already and I need to have at least 75 by the end of November. I figured, if I start back up on them on 6/1/2011, I need to make 3 every week until the end of November. Doesn't sound too bad, right?

Still working on getting the pic from Mom, she had issues with her phone. Then we had wildfires about 10 mi outside my hometown (which got REALLY close to her). Praise be to God, they completely missed her house.

Keep crocheting,
Elizabeth

I'm Baaaack!

We finally have our internet back on! Yay!

I guess a major update is in order. I kind of abandoned the sock monkeys. Mom's birthday present turned out great, she loved it. (I will have a pic in a future post, gonna have to have her send me one. I can't find the one I took.) My daughter didn't want the mittens so I ended up not making them for her.

Right now I am on another task. Here in my home town we have an Elder Angel Tree Program. It's kind of like the one for the kids only for elderly people who may not have anyone coming to visit them for the holidays. We include all the nursing homes, hospices, docters' offices and home health providers. We get an anonymous list from the providers and usually all the angels get adopted every year. There are some other programs in our comunity that like to donate gift card to this program. I am making gift card holders to put all of the donated cards into. The pattern I am using can be found here. I know it is technically a business card sleeve, but with how many I have to make, the simple-er the better. I have to make about 75 by the end of November. So far I have 9. They take about 1 hour each to complete and it's busting my stashes quite well.

Thanks for reading,
Elizabeth

Just a quick update: I don't have the internet at home right now but as soon as it's back on I'll give a full update.

6 days?

Well, life is beginning to somewhat settle down so I can get back to projects. My roommate moved out, my electricity got cut off because of a typo, we had to stay with my mom for 3 days, and finally the electricity is back on and we are back home. I have 10 days to complete Mom's Birthday present. (Ahhhhh! Where did the time go?!) I'm only about 1/12th where I need to be. Scary huh?

We may have to modify what we were going to do originally just to get done in time. Will have to talk to the sis about that one.

Well, since everyone in my house is already asleep, I think I'm going to go enjoy a book on CD while crocheting my heart out.

Good night.

Scarf

Well, I'm not exactly following the scarf pattern for the one for my daughter. And I think I like this one better ;).
My version:
Ch 17
R1: dc in 3rd ch from hk and in each ch across (15 dc)
R2: ch 2, turn. Dc in ea dc across.
Repeat R2 until scarf measures desired length.
Fringe:
I plan to use the instructions at the link in the Current Projects post a couple of days ago.
Will have pic up soon.
